Early annuals plants from last years seeds I was tired of the expense of purchasing annuals & found numerous suggestions on line for planting seeds for next season. Thus began my OCD collecting of annual plant's seeds-my garden+friends+public areas, etc. Then I plant in used containers - they must be able to be sealed, clear plastic top & the top will needs small slits. 2" of soil for seedlings, water well & outside theses little terrariums go -Yes in the winter! I put mine next to my foundation in a spot providing morning sun only - or they will dry out. They will need water now and then so check for dryness. At the end of winter look for sprouting. Some people take lids off during the day and put them in slightly more sunny areas but before evening recover them for bedtime . When plants "hit the roof" remove it. But, being from New England you have to still be on guard to protect them from those surprise very cold nights with some type of cover. I have 8 yards of fabric I never used and that this is my emergency blanket for cold nights. Compared to indoor planting this is feels so much easier to me and the success rate is amazing!
